The magical TWOsday of 2022 (02/22/2022) was my birthday, and I wanted to try something new. That was the first day I took an exacto knife to leather factory scraps and started creating freehand shapes of Lake Superior patches. Such birthday fun! As I practice more with my awl and freehand shapes, I am going to sew these patches onto hats, canoe packs, koozies, etc. The impetus for obtaining reclaimed leather originated from a side project where I am making a personalized plein air box (which combines all of my creative heart's desires: art, wood, leather & the outdoors) and I needed leather to make the straps and holders.
