There is a lot of hand crafted work that goes into each piece before the paint even meets the canvas, from the sawing and joining of the wood to the ripping, stretching, stapling and priming of the canvas. If a canvas is not made from scratch, I reclaim it from being disposed by former users and prepare it for my work. Then, depending on the amount of texture, paint can take weeks (if not months) to dry. Some pieces can take two to five years to complete.
